Our instructors bring years of knowledge and expertise to our school, creating a supportive and inspiring environment for students of all ages and skill levels.
Katie Gentry – Chief Instructor / Operator
Mrs. Katie Gentry is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo with over a decade of martial arts training and instruction experience. Since 2010, she has been perfecting her craft across disciplines while sharing her knowledge with students of all ages.
Katie established a thriving Taekwondo school in Hope, Arkansas, in 2012. Over the past seven years under her leadership, she built an incredible team that will continue the school’s student-focused legacy. This has allowed Katie to pursue her next chapter with the Professional Black Belt Association.
Her teaching philosophy centers around empowering students to reach their full potential inside and outside the dojang. Katie strives to instill discipline, leadership, and life skills in children, teens, and adults alike. Many students over the years have benefited greatly from her mentorship.
When not training or teaching, Katie enjoys reading, volunteering, camping, hiking, playing games, and spending quality time with her husband, family members, three dogs, and a cat.
Our Founder, Grandmaster Buddy Hudson
Grandmaster Buddy Hudson is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Black Belt Association. He holds a 9th degree black belt in American Karate and American Taekwondo and is an international instructor and champion in the martial arts.
Grandmaster Hudson has been inducted into the International Karate Hall of Fame and Masters Hall of Fame in honor of his significant contributions and achievements in martial arts. He previously served as President of both the United Taekwondo Alliance and the United States Taekwondo Federation.
With over 35 years of experience, Grandmaster Hudson is widely recognized as an influential mentor, leader, and pioneer in the martial arts community. His depth of knowledge and commitment to excellence has helped progress multiple martial art forms and organizations during his longstanding career.
Owners, The Lad Family (Rak, Seema Millan and Mikayl)
As residents of Crowne Ridge since 2013, the Lad family have been proud members of the Professional Black Belt Academy since 2023. Once they experienced the positive impact the Academy had on their two boys, the Lad family knew it was important to spread this positivity across to the neighboring families. Having been in the medical field for 15-plus years, the Lad family understands how the teachings at the Academy are vital for kids and adults of all ages. They are committed to providing a world-class Martial Arts experience, the best after-school program in Frisco, and a place where local families can gather for a fun-filled experience. The Professional Black Belt Association is an association of professional martial arts academies. Our affiliated schools come from all styles and backgrounds. They utilize a specific proven business model that is designed to increase the bottom line as well as turning out top quality martial arts students, black belts and certified instructors.
